Dr. Hersh has diverse expertise, from routine care to advanced surgical procedures. She has delivered over 4,000 babies. Dr. Hersh was one of the first physicians in our area to offer DaVinci Robotically assisted surgery. Dr. Hersh is particularly committed to bringing minimally invasive treatment options, including DaVinci robotic surgery for women with problems such as abnormal bleeding, fibroids, pelvic pain, and pelvic organ prolapse. An open dialog with patients is always welcome, and individualized, personal care is her top priority.

Dr. Hersh has been honored and recognized every year since 2002 in the Washingtonian Magazine as one of the TOP DOCTORS, the result of surveys completed yearly by thousands of area doctors. She speaks conversational French.

Dr. Hersh received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Michigan and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. Her internship and OBGYN residency were completed at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, an affiliate of the University of Michigan.

Dr. Hersh is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. She is also a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Society. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Georgetown University Medical School.

Dr. Hersh has been in private practice since 1984 and the owner of Virginia Women’s Health since its inception in 1992. Dr. Hersh is married and has three children.
